Employment Law Staff
John joined Canter, Levin & Berg in August 2026 as a Paralegal, working in the Employment and Commercial department.
He obtained his CILEX Employment Law & Practice qualification in 2021, and has spent the last five years working in the legal sector. John specialises in discrimination claims and claims relating to employment contracts, including unfair dismissal and contractual disputes, amongst others.
John is driven to provide a professional service based on approachability and understandable advice. It is his belief that most disputes can be resolved through amicable negotiation, albeit court and tribunal proceedings remain necessary for those scenarios in which the other side cannot agree a reasonable resolution, and John is well-versed in such proceedings.
In his spare time, John can often be found reading, attending live music events, St. Helens Rugby League matches, or practicing his piano or guitar.
Thomas returned to Canter Levin & Berg in 2025 as the Head of Employment and Commercial.
He obtained his law degree at the University of Southampton and is approaching 15 years of continuous experience as an employment lawyer and over a decade as a qualified employment and litigation solicitor. Thomas also specialises in data protection law, including work relating to the GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018, as well as engaging in dispute resolution and litigation work.
During the past decade, Thomas has built a reputation for handling Employment Tribunal claims of all types for employees and employers. His specialisms include discrimination, unfair dismissal, wrongful dismissal and unlawful deduction of wage claims, amongst others.
Thomas is driven to provide a professional service based on approachability and understandable advice. One of Thomas’ main goals is to avoid unnecessary legalese! It is his belief that most disputes can be resolved through amicable negotiation, albeit court and tribunal proceedings remain necessary for those scenarios in which the other side cannot agree a reasonable resolution.
In his spare time, Thomas can often be found at various Parkrun locations, Marine FC matches, and cheering on Max Verstappen of Red Bull Racing next to his daughter!
